After PhotoBucket disabled all free external/hot links of our image files stored on it (you have to pay to restore the service), AppNee reuploaded most of these images to ImgBB, using its free photo external links service. But happy days did not last long, ImgBB took exactly the same dirty trick as PhotoBucket did. It is still understandable to start charging for a company, but do not inform in advance and cancel a service forcibly is really to entrap countless small webmasters.

Recently, my camera broke down and I had to use my laptop's low-end inbuilt camera to take photos (I haven't had a smartphone yet, maybe I will buy one as soon as possible for the convenience of taking photos). Even worse, the image format used by ECap is BMP, which is extremely big in size. So I tried to convert it to PNG format with PNGGauntlet, but found that it would take dozens of hours at least to convert 356 BMP format of images to PNG format. This is really a bit joke!

As a new lossy image file format developed by Google specifically designed to accelerate the Web, under the condition of maintaining the same image quality, WebP format can be much smaller than JPG/JPEG format (reduce 40% or more) in size. But the problem is - WebP is not so popular that could be seen everywhere at present. As a consequence, we may have such needs for now - to convert the WebP format of images to one of the most common formats such as JPG, PNG, or vice versa.

WebP is a new modern image format that supports both lossy and lossless compression launched by Google for Web use. In the same quality, it has much smaller file size than JPEG and PNG formats of images. If all goes well, WebP could soon become the new standard of Web images.
