The founder of Age of Empires series of PC games Ensemble Studios that was disbanded by Microsoft didn't disappear from the scene, instead, they formed a new game studio Robot Entertainment, which soon afterwards announced their brand-new and original series of games Orcs Must Die!. The series currently has published three works in all: Orcs Must Die! (OMD for short) - pure single-player game, Orcs Must Die! 2 (OMD2 for short) - single-player game with double-player co-op game, and Orcs Must Die! Unchained (OMDU for short) - pure multi-player online free game.

M.U.G.E.N (AKA: Mugen, MUGEN, 無限) is a discontinued but still very active free 2D fighting game engine with many customizable components. It was developed by Elecbyte, first released in 1999 (for DOS). In 2009, MUGEN 1.0 was released, and in 2013, MUGEN 1.1 came out.

Rogue Legacy is a pixel & retro style and rogue-like (in fact that's Castlevania-like, I think) action adventure game. The entire game features graphics & systems restoring the ancient ways and cartoon characters.

Windward is small sea-war indie game with very high playability and detail production with the sincerity. It was wholly (design/programming/UI) completed by a single person (Michael Lyashenko from Canada - well-known for developing the popular NGUI plugin for Unity game engine).
