vvctre is a free, open-source and cross-platform Nintendo 3DS emulator working on Lua scripting language (the default script is script.lua). It was created by Valentin Vanelslande, developed based on Citra for Windows 7+ and Linux platforms, and released as open source under the GNU GPL V2 license.

Citra (AKA: eMu3Ds) is currently the only still living 3DS emulator for Windows, Linux, Mac and Android platforms. It is written in C++ and open source, and can run partial 3DS classic games better. Although supporting all HD 3DS games has a long distance, yet from the official news we are sure this is not far off.
