In 2009, AppNee discovered and collected CyberLink's YouCam this excellent camera effects embedding software in the CD attached with a Lenovo computer for the first time, and once wanted to share it in no time. But due to its too big file size (for a camera auxiliary application), I've been putting its release date at AppNee off, until today.

YouCam is an interesting and all-around interactive application for video chats and recordings (mainly used to add various of special effects for web cameras) developed by CyberLink from Taiwan, China. It provides a series of facial beautification tools, more than 200 interesting scenes and special effects for head portrait, complete desktop capture function, personalized avatar creation feature, etc. All of this enables you to get rid of the traditional way of interaction, and makes it more lively and interesting in the process of talking to friends online!

YouCam provides all the functionality you need in a video communication, and makes it possible for you to express yourself and to maintain your best status when chatting with friends, family members or conducting business communications with colleagues. Even better, it also comes with easy-to-use and efficient face login function and motion detecting & monitoring tool, which can be used to ensure the security of personal computer and living at home.

Installation Notes

for v10.0+:
  1. Add the following lines to your hosts file:
    • 127.0.0.1 cap.cyberlink.com
    • 127.0.0.1 activation.cyberlink.com
  2. Install YouCam
  3. Done
for v9.1+:
  1. Add the following lines to your hosts file:
    • 127.0.0.1 cap.cyberlink.com
    • 127.0.0.1 activation.cyberlink.com
  2. Download and install YouCam (repacked)
  3. Exit program, and end all related processes via Task Manager
  4. (this step depends) Install the upgrade setup
  5. Exit program, and end all related processes via Task Manager
  6. Double the corresponding reg key file to import license info
  7. Restart computer
  8. Done
for v8.0:
  1. Download and install YouCam
  2. Add the following lines to your hosts file:
    • 127.0.0.1 cap.cyberlink.com
    • 127.0.0.1 activation.cyberlink.com
  3. Done
for v7.0:
  1. Install YouCam setup to the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\YouCam7), do not launch it
  2. Open Task Manager, end the 'YouCamService7.exe' process
  3. Run the unlock patch, click 'Patch and Activate Deluxe Edition' button and wait
  4. Install the update now
  5. All done
