WinDynamicDesktop is a free and open-source dynamic desktop/wallpaper tool for Windows. It ports macOS Mojave's Dynamic Desktop feature to Windows, can have your wallpaper changed periodically to reflect the time of day, enabling you to experience dynamic desktop on Windows.

Unlike Wallpaper Engine and Lively Wallpaper, WinDynamicDesktop's working principle is to seamlessly switch different styles of the same wallpaper (gradually transition from light to dark) at different times of the day according to the time zone (local sunrise/sunset time) set by the user. The play of light and color looks very interesting.

WinDynamicDesktop comes with built-in wallpapers from macOS Catalina, Mojave Desert, and Solar Gradients. If you are not satisfied with these built-in dynamic wallpapers, you can download free and paid dynamic wallpapers created by other users. If you still can't find the one you like, you can also create your own according to the official dynamic wallpaper production guide.

Although the dynamic wallpaper files used by WinDynamicDesktop are large and need to be kept running in the background, the system resources it actually consumes are not large. Of course, you can also use WinDynamicDesktop and Auto Dark Mode together, so as to make both system theme and desktop wallpaper achieve perfect dynamic effects.
