As one of the unfailing best-seller books, The Old Man and the Sea is Ernest Hemingway's representative work. It is just a simple story with a smallish length, but it has rich meanings, even many school teachers use it as teaching material of heroism education. Recommended for students to read.
Hemingway compares his creation to "an iceberg", and uses his "iceberg principle" to vividly summarized his own artistic style and skills. In the "The Old Man and the Sea", both his skilled writing style and subconsciously symbolic metaphor got the biggest embodiment.
