First, you should know what M.U.G.E.N is. M.U.G.E.N is a free, non-professional 2D fighting game engine that only made for personal use on DOS, Windows and Linux platforms. Its was developed by Elecbyte group using the C language and Allegro libraries, and gives the characters from different ACG (Animation, Comic, Game) a common platform to fight with each other.
SNK versus CAPCOM (SvC): Ultimate MUGEN, 3rd Battle Edition is the M.U.G.E.N edition (unofficial) of The King of Fighters 2007 (a popular Doujin edition made by fan player) for Windows, which comes with up to 200 playable characters. It was made by a fighting game enthusiast from China in 2007, contains all classic characters (including the BOSS) in many popular series of arcade games (The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, The Last Blade, etc.), as well as a lot of roles from Japanese popular animations or comics. It can be regarded as an ultimate FTG hosting another big fight in the fighting world, which has a large group of players around the world!
On the basis of The King of Fighters 2007, SNK versus CAPCOM (SvC): Ultimate MUGEN, 3rd Battle Edition added so many playable roles in the whole KoF series and other well-known FTG series. More importantly, the image, movements in martial arts (including their unique skills) and operations of these characters are very loyal to their original works. In particular, it comes with a very strong scalability. For example, if you think the game starts slow, you can delete some disliked role packs. On the contrary, you can also add some favorite ones as you like.
