If PC players want to experience the games on home consoles, an emulator is always the best choice. And to play the PS3 games with excellent performance in many ways on PC platform had become a new dream for lots of PC emulator players. But due to the special hardware architecture PS3 adopts, the research and development of PS3 emulator used for PC has always been a very hard thing (the precondition for using a PC to emulate the game console is PC's performance must surpass the console's several times). Fortunately, some cool guys never gave up trying.
RPCS3 is currently the first, only best and working (developing but promising) Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) console emulator/debugger for playing both commercial and homebrew games. It's free, open-source and cross-platform (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux), written in C++ by DH & Hykem (developers from JPCSP) and first released in 2011.
Although RPCS3 is still under development and that will be long run, from its continuous official & fan-made demo videos, we can see its wonderful, extremely promising performance improvement and the maintenance & increasement in stability. Even the background music can be shown very perfectly. So, we do believe that RPCS3 will become more perfect in the future.
All in all, players who want to enjoy PS3 games on PC cheerfully still have to wait for a period of time. Anyway, if you can't wait to experience RPC3S now, then AppNee suggests you to play some small PS3 games first!
