Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (AKA: Mario & Luigi RPG 3, マリオ＆ルイージRPG3!!!) is an RPG type of video game released by Nintendo for NDS handheld game console in 2009. As the third work in the Mario & Luigi RPG series, the former two are Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
The game focuses on 3 characters' cooperation, gives full play to their respective special skills to solve the difficulties and defeat the enemy. Besides, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is also the first game in Mario & Luigi RPG series in which players can manipulate Bowser. Although RPG type, it still got praise like tide (as below), and became the number one bestseller in Japan.
Nintendo Power pointed out that "This game is the best adventure role-playing Mario game in history", and said: "Any player who loves Mario characters, role-playing games, or action games should try to play this game". IGN granted it the Editor's Choice Award. Game Informer crowned it the title of the best handheld game this month. GameDaily regarded it as the full-score game. Official Nintendo Magazine pointed out that "Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is the most fresh and important RPG game in the DS history". GameSpot also graned it the Editor's Choice Award, and praised its plot and story. TV show "X-Play" highly praised its storyline. Giant Bomb gave this game full score, and later crowned it the title of "2009 best DS game".
