MKV (Matroska Multimedia Container) is an increasingly popular video format. In some cases we need to extract the resources from MKV video so as to obtain the video, audio and subtitles inside separately for other use. For example, make an audio version of a film/TV play; edit, modify, or translate the subtitles (and then use MKVToolNix to repack them all). At this time, we can use MKVExtractGUI this tiny app to solve the requirement perfectly.

MKVExtractGUI is a Matroska (MKV) track extraction module tool developed by Pashin from Russia, specially designed to quickly and easily extract video track, audio track, subtitles, chapters, cuesheets, tags, cues, timecodes, and attachments (fonts, images, etc.) from MKV format of video files, no quality loss. It relies on MKVToolNix to work, in other words, no MKVToolNix, it cannot work at all.

MKVExtractGUI is compatible with almost any Windows versions, has compact file size (less than 1 MB) and simple UI, and does not need to install - just copy it to MKVToolNix program directory for use directly. As a consequence, it has been regarded as an edge tool or must-have app by so many video editing enthusiasts around the world.
