Installation Notes

for v7.0v3 on Windows:

SINGLE MACHINE:

  1. Install your Foundry product (Katana)
  2. Install the license server
  3. Stop Foundry License Server
  4. Copy the unlocked file to installation folder and overwrite (X:\Program Files\The Foundry\LicensingTools7.1\bin\RLM\)
  5. Open license file "xf_foundry.lic" with text editor, and replace "HOST_NAME MAC_ADDRESS PORT" with your own info (you can get these info using the "rlmutil.exe" or command "ipconfig/all", or you can start Foundry License Utility and choose Diagnostics and Run Diagnostics, then you will find your hostname, mac address. PORT is 5053 by default)
  6. Copy the license file to "C:\ProgramData\The Foundry\RLM" or "C:\Program Files\The Foundry\LicensingTools7.1\bin\RLM\"
  7. Restart RLM Server (you can do this via Services or Foundry License Utility
  8. Done
*** Foundry License Utility will help you find info on hostname, hostid, systemid, mac address, port and problems you may run into if you didn't follow the steps above.

*** Diagnostics will help you figure out what mistake you did. You can also check a few info on the web GUI:
