Iron Meat is a 2D run-and-shoot type of retro indie game with a high tribute to Contra, developed by Ivan Valeryevich Suvorov from Russia, using Unity. It comes with an onslaught of mechanics ripped from arcade and console classics - mainly the classic video game Contra, but contains graphic pixelated violence and gore throughout.
Iron Meat includes the same horizontal and vertical scrolling gameplay as Contra, supports two-player mode, has three difficulty levels, classic Contra-style pixel art, well-designed levels, various types of weapons, enemies and power-up items , challenging gameplay and bosses. By contrast, it's far bloodier and more violent than Contra. Although it is a pixel painting style, the broken arms and limbs all over the ground are quite shocking.
If you want to try a Contra-like game that is full of violence and bloodshed, then Iron Meat is worth checking out. It is guaranteed to give you the classic Contra gaming experience. Sadly, as of writing this post, Iron Meat is still in a lengthy development phase, and the only game we can get is the officially released Demo.
