FrostWire is a free and open-source BitTorrent client (formerly Gnutella client) for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android platforms, written in Java, started by the developers from LimeWire's open source community in 2004, as a fork of LimeWire. But starting with version 5, it entirely dropped the support for the Gnutella network, and became a pure BitTorrent client.

FrostWire allows any user to share his digital resources to millions of people around the world without having to upload them to online file space first, and vice versa. It employs the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) design mode, supports a variety of search methods, has very fast download speed, low memory footprint, beautiful UI design, supports creating torrent seed files, and more.

Since FrostWire is a P2P file sharing software based on LimeWire, its interface and functionality are very similar to LimeWire. But it gradually added more features, especially the support for BitTorrent protocol. By contrast, FrostWire has a more friendly user interface and is much easier to use than LimeWire. In short, you can share your music, movies, pictures, games, and more resources with FrostWire - the alternative of some gone P2P file sharing applications like Morpheus, BearShare, LimeWire.
