DVB is short for Digital Video Broadcasting! DVB Viewer (AKA: DVBViewer) is considered to be the world's best DVB software solution (player+recorder), developed by A.I.S. from Germany. DVB Viewer is better than many well-known satellite TV reception software, such as CyberLink TV Enhance (not for sale) and DVB Dream. The former is buggy, and if you've used the latter, you might want to ditch it and use DVB Viewer as an alternative to DVB Dream.
