Door Kickers is a small Real-Time Strategy indie game developed by KillHouse Games (the development team that made the famous module Project Reality for Battlefield 2) from Romania in 2014. It has a lot in common with Frozen Synapse both visually and playfully. However, the user interface and visual effects of the latter are more abstract.

In game, the player takes charge of the SWAT team, you must analyze the situation clearly, plan the route, coordinate the team members, kill all the gangsters in each building, and successfully rescue the hostages from the criminals. The game is very much like a real-world CQB (Close Quarter Battle), but it's not that hard to get through, as long as the player has the right strategy. If you find the game is too difficult, just ask a friend for help, as the game supports both local and online collaborative multiplayer game modes.

Door Kickers is realistic style, while Door Kickers: Action Squad is retro style. However, the latter's unique game theme makes the gameplay be more novel, and you will face the bad guys in each city as a SWAT team member. Before you break down the door, know the enemy you are facing, choose your equipment wisely, master your weapon's reactive force and reloading time, take advantage of distance and cover, and use the game's strategic capabilities to determine for yourself when you need your medical kit or equipment, or if your teammates are worth rescuing, etc.

The top-down perspective is used in all scenes throughout the whole series. In game, players need to grasp the overall situation and analyze carefully, then break it one by one, plan the route to rescue the hostages, and successfully complete the level in the end. In addition, the game contains many reasoning elements, and is made based on a real confrontation between the police and the bandits, so the game content inside is more realistic than ordinary works. In short, this is a good game series for anyone who likes realistic style of games.
