CDisplay is a very popular commercial comics browsing software developed for comic book lovers around the world. It comes with very simple and clear UI, no advertising, and support of almost all file formats that comics use. Sad to say, its original author (David Ayton) died in 2003. To continue his work, CDisplay Ex was born. It was totally rewrote by Prodigy Software Group, without CDisplay's source code. Most importantly, it's free for use.
As a light, efficient and free universal CBR (comic book reader), CDisplay Ex supports all comic book and manga file formats, supports direct reading most types of compressed files by using the 7-Zip plugin, and utilizes some advanced image resizing techniques to provide a smooth rendering for fluid and comfortable reading experience. From the perspective of user experience, it is able to load comic books immediately even on old computer with lower configuration. Finally, users can get the best comic reading experience with this small app.
Speaking of CDisplay Ex's concise UI and good usability, you will find the whole interface is empty when you run it in the full-screen mode, where all functions and operations are included within the right-click menu. Of course, they also can be achieved via shortcut keys (in particular, the shortcut for every function can be customized to your liking). Later, you can right-click on screen, and select File -> Load Files or just press Ctrl + L to directly open your comic file to enjoy.
