AWStats (Advanced Web Statistics) is a free and open-source website log analysis system for servers, developed by Laurent Destailleur using Perl language in 2000. It's suitable for analyzing data from Internet services such as website, streaming media, email server, FTP server, etc., and can be deployed on almost any operating system.

As a classic and powerful log analysis tool, AWStats supports most major web server log file formats including Apache, Nginx, IIS, WebSTAR, Samba, vsftpd, and more, and can generate comprehensive reports containing various tables and bar graphs in multiple formats, such as HTML or PDF. It can basically parse and analyze all information in various log files. Using it with Google Analytics, you will be invincible in the field of log viewing and analyzing.

AWStats provides detailed statistics about website visitors, including the number of visitors, the pages they visit, the keywords they use, their geographical location, operating system, browser, and more. With its help, website owners can gain valuable insights into their audience and make informed decisions to improve their online presence.

AWStats also offers advanced functionalities, such as tracking keywords, monitoring bandwidth usage, and detecting potential security threats. It provides graphical representations of data, allowing users to visualize trends and patterns easily. Besides, it can be easily installed and configured, and provides real-time updates and can be scheduled to generate reports automatically.

Although AWStats is just one of the many web analytics tools available to website owners, it can help them get a better understanding of their audience and how they interact with their website. This can help them improve their website's content, design, and functionality, which can ultimately lead to a better user experience and increased traffic.
